Visit to International Dome

I went to International Dome last Friday to see exchange students and to ask their schedules.
I am a member of "English Lounge", so I needed to know and to tell their schedules to Mr. Okamura who is our an adviser.
After that, Mr. Waterman, economic teacher, invited us to playing games and to dinner, so I went to Mr. waterman's house with my friends. When we got to his house, his wife greeted us at the door. We went straight to play the train game, which is a board game. While we played the game, Mrs. Waterman treated us to pizza which was great. We played the game again after dinner, so one of my friends won the game.

Kaigaikensyu1 -Week 1-

I went to Leicester, England in this summer as an overseas training (kaigaikenshu), so I write about my experiences through the overseas training. Then, I write about week one, from 23rd July to 28th July, at first.

Monday, 23rd July

We was supposed to get together at our university at 6 a.m. and went to Fukuoka International Airport by bus. In the airport we went through embarkation procedure and then took the 10:30 flight for Incheon International Airport in Korea. we arrived at the airport at 11:55 a.m. it took about 90 minutes. Then, we left the airport for Heathrow Airport in England. It was about 13 hours to take in the flight! I was so tired and bored. I talked with my friend, played cards and games, watched movies, listening to music, and slept while abroad an airplane but it was too long to kill time because it was almost half a day.

After getting to Heathrow Airport, we went to De Montfort University, which we went to by bus in weekday, and then we met our own host family and went to their house. When I got to their house, I called my parents and I slept at 1 a.m.

Tuesday, 24th July

I woke up at 8 a.m. and ate two pieces of toast which melt cheese on and salad. In the day, we went sightseeing in Leicester city from 1 p.m. Leicester is a multiracial and multicultural city, so I could see many kinds of people, such as Westerner, Asian, Arab, and so on.

I was surprised that my host family had other international students. One of of them is from Spain and the other is from Turkey. Both are cheerful and friendly. In my case, my host family has a child who is 17 years old, so I could make friends with him.

Wednesday, 25th July

The day was the first day that we took classes. Our teachers were Emma and Sarah who were very kind and always smiled for us, so we enjoyed the classes.

Thursday, 26th July

I have got a minor development in the day. I was lost with my friend when we went back our host family's house, so we wandered near the houses for 1 hour. Eventually, we were able to get back the houses but we were so nervous and tired.

Friday, 27th July

In the morning, I took classes, Listening and Reading, and from afternoon we did sightseeing in Leicester by "Open Top Bus".

Saturday, 28th July

The day was all day excursion to London. I had to get on the first bus, so I had to wake up at6 but I overslept. However, I could barely catch the bus. At 8 a.m. we went to London by coach, and arrived there about 2 hours later. At first, I saw “Big Ben” when I took a boat trip on the Thames River because “Big Ben” is beside the Thames River, so I took some pictures of it. We went to Piccadilly Circus. where is is a famous road junction and public space of London's West End in the City of Westminster. The Circus is close to major shopping and entertainment areas in a central location at the heart of the West End. Its status as a major traffic intersection has made Piccadilly Circus a busy meeting point and a tourist attraction in its own right after we had a lunch in the street Then, we got on "Tube" which subway is called in England. I was surprised that tube came every 5 minutes so we didn't have to wait. After that, we went to "Harrowds" which is well known all over the world but I bought nothing because it was so expensive in London. In spite of that, I went to a souvenir shop and bought souvenirs for my family and my friends. We came back home at 9 or 10.
