Essay 6 My Favorite Movie

I will talk about my favorite movie. What is my favorite movie? I have watched a lot of movies, so it is difficult for me to select the best movie but I would venture to say that the best movie is “The Lord of the Rings”, which is my favorite movie.

“The Lord of the Rings” is famous as an epic high fantasy novel written by J. R. R. Tolkien, which is also the origin of the movie. The story can be divided into three parts, “The Fellowship of the Ring”, “The Two Towers”, and “The Return of the King”. Therefore, I leave out all these plots because it is too long to talk about them, so I will talk about the prologue and characters of these stories at first.

These stories concern humanoid people known as Hobbits, Elves, Men, Dwarves, Wizards, and Orcs. In addition, there is the Dark Lord, Sauron, who made Ring of Power and person who has the ring can control Middle-earth, the world of these stories. The nine braves fight with the forces of evil over the ring. The nine braves consist of various races as above so the members are Frodo who is main character, Sam, Pippin, Merry, who are Hobbits, Gandalf who is a Wizard, Aragorn, Boromir who are Men, Legolas who is a Elf, and Gimuli who is a Dwarf. Each of them has them own features. Hobbits have a kind heart, love for nature, and especially, they are short. Wizards have a special power but they become good or evil depending on using the power. Elves are noble and elegant, and what’s more, they have magical charm. They have basically immortal life. Dwarves have a keen sense of justice. Men only satisfy own desire, so they are described as feeble human in these stories.

Next, I will talk about my memorable scenes because a lot of scenes impressed me. One of the scenes was that Sam said to moribund Frodo that he can’t bear the ring’s burden but he can shoulder him. Saying so, Sam shouldered Frodo and took one step at a time. I think there was nobody but was moved to tears watching this scene, so this scene is my most memorable scene. In addition, I was impressed that there was “Elvish languages”. The language was made by J. R. R. Tolkien and came from Old Celtic. There are two characteristics in the language. First, it sounds a song for men so most of men can’t understand their language. Second, their words including dull sound were used in a bad sense. Therefore, the author, Tolkien creates an origin language. It is wonderful for me that he originates new language.

That is why I like the movie, “The Lord of the Rings”. I never get tired of watching this movie and I learn a lot of things watching this movie.

The heavy rain make me stay at my university just now because my train go out of service by the rain, so I can't go back home......(T-T)

Book Review 1-08

Today, the book which I chose is "RETURN TI EARTH". The story is as follow.

Some people are have a telepathy, just a little. They know what another person, perhaps a brother or a sister, is thinking. If you know someone really well, you sometimes know what they will say before they say it, but are they sure it's all right? To know 'everything' that other people are thinking and feeling, and to know their thoughts that are secrets in their minds in every minute, every hour, and day after day. To know everything is also that you can not refuse.
One day, Harl traveled through the time and space to a distant planet. He returned to Earth after many long years away. Ellen who was Harl's girlfriend and a scientist wasn't interested in space travel, because she wanted to change life on Earth to do something very new, very exciting, and very different and she believed her experience will success. Thus, Harl said goodbye to Ellen and went traveling space.
When Harl went back to Earth, environment on Earth changed drastically, so the world was a very different place. In the world, some of people grew to be adults, but other people were all right when they were young children. However, they began to die like flies, one after the other when they were about ten or eleven years old, because human have got bad minds, so they looked at themselves deep down inside. It was not comfortable to think about it. They hid from their true selves and when they spoke, they didn't always say what they thought or felt, so they also hid from other people too.

That is why I think 'telepathy' is so terrible and I don't want to have the ability. How would you feel this story? Do you want 'telepathy'? Is the 'telepathy' really great? As for me, I answered 'NO'. How about you?

Book Review 1-07

I read this book, "JAWS". This story is very famous as a very exciting film which Steven Spielberg made and the film made him world-famous. Most of people went to see the film and cried out in the cinema because they were so afraid.

Amity is a quiet town near New York. One night a young woman went for a swim in the sea, but she didn't come back. In the next morning, the police found her dead on the beach. Brody who is a good police man thought there was a shark near Amity, so he tried to close the beaches, but business people in the beach didn't listen to him because the only way to live is to sell something to eat or to drink and so on. However, another victim was found, so Brody, Hooper, and Quint went to kill great white shark.

Eventually, only Brody was able to survive and killed the shark.

I was not feel fear when I finished reading this book because I think the movie is more interesting and more powerful than the book, of course.

Recently, I have had tons of homework, such as reports, written descriptions of my impressions and so on but I finished finally most of my homework today. I feel so tired because I didn't sleep.

Essay5 The Worst Day In My Life

I can remember clearly the day when I had a lot of misfortunes. I think it is the worst day in my life.

The morning on the day was rainy so I went to my university with my umbrella. It was so far so good but I found that I forgot to take my commuter pass with just when I got it, so I went back my home to take it. Then, I rushed back to the Yatsushiro station and managed to catch a next train. In the train I got sleepy so I didn't know when I arrived at Kumamoto station. Because I got off hastily the train to change trains there, I left my umbrella in the train but then I didn't find it. I found it when I left Suizenji station. It is too late then. The train had gone. Therefore, I hurried through the rain to my university and I got wet in the rain. As a result, I was soaking wet all the day because it was rainy when I also went back home.

That is why that it started forgetting my commuter pass all, so I have always taken care not to forget something since that day. I think the day was my worst day.
